Two bedroomed Coopers Cottage is set down a private track and surrounded by meadows, copses, ponds and streams.
When you stay at Coopers Cottage it’s just you, we have no other cottages to rent on our farm, you are most welcome to roam the 90 acres and beyond. The farm is home to cows, pigs, sheep, horses and chickens and Fly and Boss our two friendly sheep dogs who will happily walk with you if you want.
The grade II listed cottage has been carefully restored to blend the benefits of an old building – oak beams, vaulted ceilings and an inglenook fire – with modern plumbing and appliances.
Outside there is a secluded South West facing terrace garden with panoramic views across unspoilt farmland.
We really are quite off the beaten track and the nearest village – with pubs, shops and cafes – is about three miles away (there are footpaths to the villages and the reward of a good pub of course). The local station Stonegate does however take you to Tunbridge Wells in ten minutes and London in an hour. There are many attractions within easy reach by car, National Trust properties such as Batemans and Scotney Castle, wonderful gardens like Great Dixter and Sissinghurst, sandy beaches at Camber Sands and Pett Levels and interesting towns like Old Hastings, Rye and Lewes.
Downstairs the cottage has an open plan layout. A sitting room leads through to the kitchen/dining room with a separate utility room.
The sitting room has a huge inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove making it really cosy in the winter months. Two huge sofas plus comfy chairs means plenty of seating. There is a TV with DVD, a radio and docking station for your i-pod and wi-fi throughout.
The fitted kitchen is equipped with a hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and Nespresso. There is a separate utility room with a sink, washing machine/drier and loo.
There is central heating throughout.
Upstairs there are two light and airy bedrooms, the main bedroom has a double bed and the smaller room has two single beds. With really good mattresses, quality cotton sheets, down duvets – and only the owls to disturb you – we can guarantee a really good nights sleep.
The bathroom has a bath with integral shower. Across the corridor is a separate loo.
Well behaved dogs are welcome (downstairs only) but please note the garden is not enclosed and there are sheep and chickens on the farm. There is a £25 per week supplement for extra cleaning.
Thank you so much for a wonderful week at your beautiful cottage. We loved meeting the animals and the girls have fallen in love with Boss and Fly. Thank you for the lovely flowers and apple juice. The sausages were delicious too. We definitely want to come back.

I could happily stay here for a few more weeks/months! Gorgeous cottage, comfortable and the perfect place to chill out. Hope I didn’t scare the cows by taking Shelby our greyhound out for her morning walk in my PJs and boots at 6am!
We will be back! Love, love, love this place.
