Coopers Cottage, a detached Grade II listed farm building, stands in the Coopers Farm farmyard and is surrounded by 90 acres of meadows, copses, ponds and streams. The cottage has recently been restored to add the benefits of 21st century living to the character of the 200-year-old building.
Inside, it feels like a well-loved home (but tidier than our own!) thanks to a mix of antique furniture, comfortable sofas, big rugs and wooden floors. For those who enjoy a log fire, the sitting room has a huge inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, leading through to a fully equipped kitchen and utility room with loo.
The cottage has an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/drier, TV, video, CD player and oil fired central heating. Upstairs, all the rooms are vaulted to the beams. There is a double bedroom, twin bedroom, bathroom with shower and a separate second loo.
Outside, there is a secluded south-west facing terrace garden with sweeping views across the fields - a peaceful spot to enjoy a glass of wine while you watch the sun go down You're also free to wander around the farm, take a dip in the swimming pond (very chilly!) or picnic by a stream - and if you're feeling energetic we'd be thrilled if you want to lend a hand with the hay making, charcoal burning or lambing.
All the heating, electricity, linen, towels and logs are included in the price but in order to make your visit as relaxing as possible we can offer additional treats such as a range of delicious home-cooked meals (using our own beef, lamb and vegetables), farm eggs and honey. Well behaved dogs are welcome (downstairs only), but please don't bring them if there is ANY chance of them chasing the sheep. Sorry, Coopers Cottage is a NO smoking house - but there are 90 acres of fresh air if you're desperate for a quick puff!
